Dance Instructor & Asst. Artistic Director for The Chicago Latin Street Dance Company.
Directly from Mexico City, Nora took her first dance classes at the tender age of 5. She danced hawaiian dance for about 3 years. At age 16, she took her first Jazz lesson with Alberto Olivar in Mexico. While still in Mexico, she later took workshops with Kirby Reed at Ema Pulido's dance studio.
Nora later moved to Chicago to start her ballet, Jazz, Modern & Hip Hop training at Joel Hall Dance Center. After training very hard and several performances (UIC Theatre & Link Hall) for 3 years she decided she wanted to learn to dance Salsa.
In January of 2006, she started taking lessons at Latin Street Dancing after her evaluation with Chris Manning. While taking lessons at Latin Street Dancing her passion for Latin dance grew at an exponential rate. In October of 2006 She tried out, and made it into The Mosaico Student Dance group. In January of 2007, she was invited to the professional Chicago Latin Street Dance Company by then artistic director & owner Andres Meneses. After months of dancing and performing, she began training as an instructor and by the Summer of 2007 she tought her first class at Latin Street Dancing Studios. In October of 2007, she began assiting the new artistic director of the Dance Company Chris Manning.
Nora currently teaches several Salsa curriculum classes, Ladies Styling and Hip Hop. She has also performed at Chgo salsa Congress 2007, Miami salsa Congress 2007, Chicago Salsa Festival 2007 & The Puerto Rico Salsa & Hustle Festival 2007, among many many local events at in The Chicago Metro Area.
