"Touba has been performing and teaching different dance styles almost her life and has most recently focused on Latin dance. She started her training at Latin Street Dancing as a student and member of the student dance company, Mosaico, and has continued on to teach at the studio as well as perform with the Latin Street Dancing Pro Team. Touba's love for the performing arts started at the age of four and has grown ever since. As she grew and became involved in different dance and theater groups around the world, she discovered the positive affects of the arts on herself and those around her. Her dance background includes folkloric dances from North, Central and South America, West Africa, Western Europe, The Middle East and Asia, as well as lyrical and musical theater dance styles. Touba recognizes that dance is an intergral part of her emotional, physical and spiritual well-being and regards it as a healthy form of self expression. She started finding herself in the teaching role and discovered the joy associated with helping others express themselves through the arts . She hopes to continue to help others have fun and discover the positive influence of dance here at Latin Street, no matter what gender, age, ethnicity, class or religion!" |
